Just up the road (the A3400) from the campsite I was staying at, Cotswolds Camping at Holycombe in Whichford,is Herd at Todenham Manor Farm, tucked away on a massive 900-acre working farm. Once you see the sign for Todenham, turn left and follow the road past the Pit Kitchen, and you are nearly there.

This place is a proper field-to-fork setup. This type of place is right up my street!

Herd at Todenham Farm, Breakfast:

I always order the full English, which comes packed with their own home butchered bacon and sausages, rich black pudding still soft in the middle, homemade baked beans, roasted cherry vine tomatoes, crispy little roast potatoes, and organic eggs cooked just how i like them, crispy whites, runny yolks, sourced straight from the farm, all served with perfectly toasted bread. To wash it down, I always have it with a fresh orange juice and a beautifully smooth flat white coffee.

If you look at Herd at Todenham Manor Farm reviews, most people rave about it. I've been here about four times for breakfast over the last few years. It’s always been very good, apart from once when the mushrooms weren't cooked to my taste and the sourdough toast was rock hard.

I'd also prefer to see condiments like brown sauce in a bottle rather than little ramekins and the sausages a little thicker, they are on the skinny side and can dry out.

Herd Menu and Setup:

For lunch and dinner, they do incredible daily specials, normally featuring their spectacular, farm-reared rib-eye on the bone, fresh fish delivered daily from the Flying Fish Seafood company, and a lunch special sandwich served on fresh bread from Mor Bakery in Chipping Campden (I’ve been myself, and it is superb). For Sunday lunch, they do a mean looking roast, especially the roast beef!

Next time i am in the area i will be be going back for the daily specials and Sunday lunch.

You eat inside a cosy safari-style tent with sheepskin throws over the benches and a little wood-burning oven in the corner. Outside, you can also eat under a canopy or in the sun on one of their benches, looking out over the countryside.

Todenham Farm Shop:

They’ve also got an excellent farm shop and a proper butchery counter open 7 days a week. It’s perfect for grabbing some of their own farm-produced meats: aged steaks, lamb, homemade sausages, grass-fed burgers, organic pork, and marinated BBQ items, as well as plenty of deli items. I always buy loads of stuff to cook on the BBQ or pack up for home.

Latest Update, Todenham Manor Farm, July 2026

On the way down to Cotswolds camping at Holycombe I popped back into Todenham Manor Farm to grab some beef and ribs for the BBQ later that evening.

First thing I noticed, new indoor seating area built on the side that joins the main building with canvas walls and roof. Looks really cool, gives them a lot more space to eat inside when it's cold. Along with that, four new benches for eating outside too. And new toilets.

They've also started doing Hawkstone on tap now, lager, cider, IPA and a stout that's like a Guinness. Great addition I reckon, especially for Burger Friday nights!

Had a chat with Luke, the manager, who said there's a lot of interesting new stuff happening at the Herd, worth keeping an eye on their socials for updates.

I then got some lovely côte de boeuf from the butchers, their own dry aged beef, and some jerk pork ribs. Beef was excellent on the BBQ, rich and deep in flavour, really tender. Definitely worth the stop.

Outside the butchers they've also got some nice local fruit and veg, and charcoal for BBQs, handy if you're heading off camping and need to stock up before you go.

Verdict:

I really like the setup. It's got a good feel to it, a trendy place with plenty of locals in their Barbour's chilling out. Definitely worth going if you are in the area and want to experience a bit of the Cotswold lifestyle.

Overall 8.5 /10
